TVDSB Asked, So I Answered
"We went to TVDSB public schools and sent all our kids to TVDSB schools as well, but at this point, I would get a second job or buy a smaller house in order to avoid sending them to a TVDSB school."
Yesterday I received an email from our local school board asking me to fill out a short survey. Here are the questions and my answers.
In your experience, what is TVDSB doing well?
These engagement sessions with the public are good. Keep doing them. TVDSB communicates frequently, which is also good.
In your experience, what is TVDSB currently not doing well?
TVDSB should do a better job of overseeing teachers and staff who lead and encourage children (my daughter is one of them) to consider life-altering medical interventions as minors. It has been extremely disheartening to see our daughter want to harm herself and see this encouraged by teachers and guidance counsellors. counsellor. The guidance counsellor specifically has threatened to report us to CAS even though our daughter lives in a stable and loving home where all her needs are met.
TVDSB is opening itself up to future lawsuits because of this behaviour on the part of its employees. Many of your employees (I have spoken to several of them) are not okay with this happening but are afraid to speak up about it for fear of being ostracized or unemployed.
Imagine that we are a few years into the future and TVDSB is now performing at its peak and the community it serves is thriving. What does TVDSB need to do to get there?
Listen to parents. I know of many children, all girls, from stable loving homes who are being guided down a path of self-harm and medicalization. This is happening without their parents’ knowledge or consent by people who have no long-term stake in the dire consequences that will result from walking this path.
Your input will help to guide the development of our next strategic plan. What else would you like to share with TVDSB as we work to develop our next strategic plan?
Children are flooding out of the public system because of what I've mentioned above. Home school groups are swelling and private schools are full and building additions and entire complexes. I wish this wasn't the case.
My wife and I went to TVDSB public schools and we sent all our kids to TVDSB schools as well, but at this point, I would get a second job or buy a smaller house in order to avoid sending them to TVDSB schools.
I am a person who lives my life in the public eye, and so the way we have raised and loved our kids has been witnessed by many people. To have a guidance counsellor, based solely on the word of our daughter who struggles with mental illness, threaten to have her removed from our home is beyond hurtful.
It is negligent and should be addressed.
Thank you for what you are doing. My family is moving to London in December from the UK and we will be putting our precious little girl into school there. I’m terrified.
You did a great job explaining, with brevity and specificity, the “Trans at School” problem. We tried to transfer out daughter to a private school but they would not accept her. The trans ideology had done so much damage that it was clear no school would take her unless they had to.
